Volkswagen To Add Audi Models At Russian Plant

Audi A4, A5, A6, Q5 and Q7 models to be produced at Kaluga plant

Volkswagen is going to include three Audi models, A4, A5 and Q5, for production at its plant in Kaluga, Russia, reported AutomotiveWorld.com.

Reportedly, the facility began assembling partly-finished kits of Volkswagen and Skoda brand models in November 2007. Recently, the company officially commenced the VW and Skoda CKD kit production at its assembly plant in Kaluga.

SKD assembly of the Audi A4, A5 and Q5 is expected to commence in mid-November of 2009, followed by the Audi A6 and Q7 in January 2010.

Currently, Volkswagen Group Russia employs approximately 1,800 people in Kaluga and a further 300 in the sales company based in Moscow. By the end of 2010, the workforce is expected to reach approximately 3,000 at its Kaluga plant.
