Visteon has said that it supplies audio system for Tata's low cost car, Nano. The new system can be outfitted by dealer, as well as a lightweight air intake manifold designed to offer quiet performance for the 2-cylinder Nano.
The audio system features a bezel with an integrated human machine interface(HMI) and mounting system to meet the vehicle's requirements.
The accessory audio system provides a range of in-car audio entertainment and comes with speakers and a radio antenna, claims the company. The 4 variants of audio system available are AM/FM radio with auxiliary input, CD player, USB port and Bluetooth wireless technology.
The Bluetooth allows the driver to wirelessly connect a mobile phone for in-vehicle, hands-free communication and to stream music from the mobile phone to vehicle audio system. The system's auxiliary and USB ports allow user to connect USB flash drive or MP3 player for use in vehicle.
Visteon also supplies the Nano's engine air intake manifold, designed to distribute fuel-air combustion mixture to each intake port in the cylinder head.
Steve Meszaros, president of electronics and interiors groups at Visteon, said: “We are proud to support Tata's breakthrough initiative to offer the most affordable vehicle in the world. In supporting the Nano, we applied our expertise in supplying the low-cost and small car segments while leveraging our extensive global footprint to exceed our customer's expectation.”
