Varroc Elastomers receives Environmental Youth of the Year 2016 award

Varroc Group firm Varroc Elastomers has received the ‘Environmental Youth of the year 2016’ award at a Clean & Green India 2016 award function held in Delhi.


The award was given for the company's green initiatives implemented under the stewardship of executive director Srikanth Pothapragada for its automotive rubber component facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The company implemented the Lean and total productive maintenance (TPM) methodology, to make its processes safer, dust free and operator friendly.

The move helped the company to reduce its plant operations in size, allowing it to use the area for tree plantations.

The awards intend to recognizes achievers, innovators and suppliers who have given major contributions for sustainability in India with new innovations, cutting-edge technology, products and services and offering a quality business platform that will speed up development and growth in India.

Pothapragada said "We are honored to receive the Clean & Green India Award. It is indeed a very big achievement for Varroc Elastomers.

"We are one of the very few manufacturing company in India to have dust free mixing line wherein one can have his lunch, whereas in other such industries one can't stay for few minutes."

Varroc Elastomers' step toward sustainability follows Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign launched by the Government of India for cleanliness.

To implement clean, green and sustainable policies, the company invested huge amount in equipment, technologies, manpower and systems to achieve better quality, competitive cost and timely deliveries.

The company wants to focus more on its research and development centres in order to create new engineering solutions for the future challenges..

Varroc Elastomers is engaged in the engineering and manufacturing of NVH parts for automotive industry. It is a joint venture between Varroc and Engineering Rubber Research Institute.
