Tata Motors Group January Global Sales Up 93%
The Tata Motors Group, comprising of Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover, has reported an increase of 93% in its global sales.
The global sales in January 2010 were 85,714, an increase of 93% over January 2009. The cumulative sales for the fiscal (April 2009 – January 2010) were 681,480, an increase of 13% compared to the corresponding period in 2009-10.
The sales of all commercial vehicles were 40,334 during the period, an increase of 115%. The cumulative sales for the fiscal year were 322,470, an increase of 32%. The sales of all passenger vehicles were 45,380, up 76% and the cumulative sales for fiscal year are 359,010, a decrease of 0.31%.
The Tata passenger vehicle sales, including those distributed, were 29,111 for the month, which is an increase of 44% and the cumulative sales for the fiscal year were 205,763, an increase of 22%.
In addition, Jaguar Land Rover global sales in January 2010 were 16,269 vehicles, an increase of 195%. The Jaguar sales for the month were 2,974, which is an increase of 122%, while Land Rover sales were 13,295, up 219%. The cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal year are 153,247, a decrease of 20% and cumulative sales of Jaguar are 39,484, down 30%, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 113,76, which is a decrease of 16%.
