Tata Motors Global Sales Up 59% In February

The Tata Motors Group global sales, comprising of Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover, were 89,768 in February 2010, an increase of 59% compared to February 2009.

According to Tata Motors, sales of all commercial vehicles rose by 70% to 42,660, while the total passenger vehicles sold were 47,108 in February 2010, an increase of 50% compared to the same period last year. Tata passenger vehicle sales, including those distributed, were 29,911 for the month, a growth of 45%.

Jaguar Land Rover global sales in February 2010 rose by 60% to 17,197 vehicles, Jaguar sales were 3,292, higher by 55%, while Land Rover sales were 13,905, an increase of 62% compared to the same period last year.

Total cumulative sales for the fiscal (April 2009 – February 2010) were 771,238, an increase of 17% compared to the same period in 2008-09. Cumulative sales of all commercial vehicles rose by 35% to 365,120 and cumulative sales of total passenger vehicles for the fiscal are 406,118, a growth of 4% compared to the same period last year.

Tata passenger vehicle cumulative sales for the fiscal, including those distributed, were 235,674 numbers, a growth of 24%. Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal was down by 16% to 170,444, cumulative sales of Jaguar was lower by 26% to 42,776, while cumulative sales of Land Rover are 127,668, lower by 11%.
