ABR Staff Writer Published 06 September 2010

Japanese small-car maker Suzuki Motor said that it is planning a third vehicle plant in India to meet its increasing sales.

The plant will be located at the same site of its earlier plant in the northern town of Manesar in Haryana, according to Associated Press.

The plant will start its production as early as 2013, and will produce 250,000 vehicles per year.

The addition of the new plant will increase the production capacity for Maruti Suzuki to 800,000 vehicles per annum.

The news agency reported that the company has not announced the model plans for the new plant.

Suzuki Motors holds a controlling stake of 54% in Maruti Suzuki.
