Scania To Deliver 1,000 Trucks In UK

ABR Staff Writer Published 26 January 2010

Scania has received a new order to deliver 1,000 trucks to Stobart Group and A W Jenkinson Forest Products in the UK. The deliveries are expected to commence in March 2010.

According to Scania, the contract from both companies mainly comprises the new Scania R-series model, along with a number of Scania G-series vehicles.

Hans-Christer Holgersson, MD of Scania (UK), said: “This order marks our continued association with two of the most respected names in the UK transport industry. We are pleased to note that the operational performance of Scania’s vehicles, plus the experience and expertise of Scania's UK service organisation, have all been contributory factors behind the decision of Stobart Group and AW Jenkinson to once again opt for Scania.”

Scania is a manufacturer of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications and of industrial and marine engines. The R&D activities are concentrated in Sweden while production takes place in Europe and South America, with facilities for global interchange of both components and complete vehicles.
