Scania Appoints Top Executives
Per Hallberg as head of R&D and Purchasing, and Anders Nielsen as head of Production and Logistics
Scania, a global manufacturer of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications, has appointed Per Hallberg as the head of Research and Development as well as Purchasing, who has been a member of the executive board. The company also names Anders Nielsen as head of Production and Logistics, who will join Scania’s executive board. They both would take up their new positions from 1 January, 2010.
Mr. Hallberg is currently executive vice president of production and procurement. He joined Scania in 1977 and has held various managerial positions. Prior to his current position, he was head of Powertrain Production and Development and a member of Scania Group Management between 1999 and 2001.
Reportedly, Hasse Johansson, currently head of research and development, will retire on 1 January, 2010.
Anders Nielsen is currently senior vice president of Chassis and Cab Production and a member of Scania group management. He joined Scania in 1987 and has held various managerial positions. Prior to his current position, he was vice president of production and development at Scania Latin America between 2002 and 2006.
