Renault Trucks and Coca Cola Enterprises Belgium are joining forces to reduce their environmental impact, and Alcoa wheels are playing a part.
Renault Trucks is making a test vehicle with a hybrid propulsion system available to Coca Cola, a move which will speed up development of the Renault Premium Distribution Hybrys Tech by having it used under operating conditions.
The company also said that to make the vehicle environmentally friendly, it is equipped with Alcoa forged aluminum wheels with the easy to clean Dura Bright surface treatment. Reportedly Alcoa wheels are not only lighter than steel, but also stronger and are 100% recyclable. Their reduced weight results in fewer emissions.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products, serves the commercial vehicle, automotive, and defense markets with products used in applications including cast and forged aluminum wheels, aluminum space frames, specialised vacuum die cast products, niche products such as Dura-Bright and Dura-Flange wheels and M-Series medium truck wheels, as well as a variety of other aluminum components for these markets.
