Nissan To Start Production In Vietnam
Nissan model to be assembled by Vietnam Motors
Nissan Vietnam is expected to start local production and launch its first model assembled in Vietnam, by 2010.
The Nissan model would be assembled by Vietnam Motors, an existing automotive assembler, and will be distributed by Nissan Vietnam. The company said that guidance and quality control for the assembly of Nissan automobiles, will be provided by engineers from Nissan Motor, Japan.
Shinya Hannya, Vice President for Asian markets, Nissan, said: Vietnam is a strategic market for Nissan with tremendous opportunities. We are aiming for strengthening our market presence in Vietnam as well as in other fast emerging countries. The offering of locally assembled products will accelerate our business in Vietnam and lay the foundation for further growth.
Nissan Vietnam is a joint venture between Nissan Motor, Japan, and Kjaer Group, Denmark. The company began operations in December 2008, and imports and distributes Nissan vehicles, parts and accessories through its dealers network.
