Navteq Develops Online Map Update Web Portal For Fiat

Navteq has developed a new map update web portal for Fiat Group Automobiles, to offer Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo drivers access to the new map data for the Fiat Group Automobiles' navigation systems.

According to Navteq, based on location portal infrastructurethe new site, which is to be operated and managed by Navteq, provides a secure commercial environment.

In addition, the user-friendly interface supports product selection, payment in four currencies and customer profile management.

The company said that the new data can be downloaded from store and can be transferred to navigation system through SD cards or USB storage media while the integrity of content is protected by an unlocking mechanism. Customers can also choose to have updates physically shipped through post or courier service.

Bruno Bourguet, senior vice president of EMEA sales at Navteq, said: “Navteq specialises in navigation and has a wealth of experience in developing, promoting and managing map update business. We have the expertise to operate a premium service for the Fiat Group Automobiles which is designed to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales.”

The store is available in six languages including English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish to driver in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
