Maruti Suzuki Reports Rise In June Sales
Highest ever monthly export volume in the company's history
Automaker Maruti Suzuki India, has reported a 22.6% rise in its sales in June 2009. The company sold a total of 75,109 vehicles during this month, including 13,336 units for export.
Maruti Suzuki said that it is the highest ever monthly export volume in the company's history. Its sales in the domestic market grew by 9.51% to reach 61,773 units in June, from 56,411 units in the same month last year.
Sales volume in the domestic A2 segment (Alto, Wagon-R, Zen, Swift, A-star, Ritz) grew by 22.2%, while volume in the A3 segment (SX4 and DZiRE) grew by 5% during the month, as compared to sales in June 2008.
Since its first shipment in January 2009, model A-star has led the company's exports. A-star's cumulative exports crossed 45,000 units mark in June 2009. The brand has invoked positive customer response in markets like Germany, UK, Netherlands, Spain and France, said Maruti Suzuki.
