Maruti Q1 Net Sales Up 27% To INR80.5bn
Maruti Suzuki has reported net sales of INR80.5bn for the first quarter of 2010, an increase of 27% compared to INR63.4bn for the same quarter in 2009.
The company's operating income for the first quarter were INR82.3bn compared to INR64.9bn for the same period last year.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2010, the company posted net income of INR4.6bn, or INR16.11 per diluted share, compared to INR5.8bn, or 20.20 per diluted share for the same quarter in 2009.
The company posted total sales of 283,324 units during the quarter which represents an increase of 25%. This included export of 40,437 units, a 38% growth over the same period last year. The domestic sales volume grew by 23% to 242,887 units.
The company's volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 16.2% during the quarter, while in C segment, sales volume grew by 50.8%. The sales volume in A3 segment grew by 45.2%, compared to sales for the first quarter in 2009.
