Mahindra & Mahindra Updates On Maxximo
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has said that the Maxximo will now be available at INR279,000. Maxximo, the first vehicle to roll out from Mahindra’s Chakan plant in India, was recently unveiled at the 10th Auto Expo 2010 held in New Delhi.
Maxximo is a mini-truck featuring a 2-cylinder, CRDe engine with DOHC technology and 4 valves per cylinder. The CRDe engine offers a 25 HP of power and 5.5 Kgm of torque. This ensures improved pick-up, acceleration and gradeability, allowing it to carry heavy loads, said the company.
Rajesh Jejurikar, chief of operations in Automotive Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra, said: “The Maxximo is the world’s first mini-truck with C2 CRDe technology that offers an unbeatable value proposition at an attractive price of INR279,000 (ex showroom - Navi Mumbai). The Maxximo is also available with free maintenance for one year/40,000 km, a first for the segment.”
M&M said that the Maxximo is designed for small-cargo movement. It has undergone test runs and has been validated on all performance, safety and reliability parameters.
Maxximo offers fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl, a loading area of 3.2 sq mt and 850 kg of rated payload. It also features brakes with load sensing proportioning valve, which ensure control while braking. An impact absorbing structure between the front bumper and chassis provides added protection to occupants in case of frontal impact.
Maxximo will be launched in February in select markets and will be made available across India in a phased manner.
