Honda Eyes 1.25m Units, Unveils New CBF Stunner
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), a wholly-owned two-wheeler subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Japan, is targeting sale of 1.25 million units in financial year 2009-10. The new target is an 18% increase over last year's 1.07 million units.
Shinji Aoyama, President and CEO, HMSI, has said that in spite of the impact of recession on the motorcycle market, the momentum in this sector is still strong and the sector is witnessing a positive growth.
The company has unveiled its new CBF Stunner. Powered with 125cc air-cooled four-stroke self-start engine, the new model will deliver a power of 11.6 bhp at 8000 rpm and will give an enhanced mileage of 65 Km/l, as compared to 60 Km/l delivered by the previous model, the company said.
The latest version has a top speed of 100 km/hr and is equipped with PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) technology, which would bring down the emission level to one-tenth.
N K Rattan, Operation Head, Sales & Marketing, HMSI, said: “The bike will be available by June 13, 2009 all over India. We plan to sell 1.25 lakh of CBF Stunner (all four variants) in year 2009-10.”
