Honda Canada has reported combined September sales of 14,889 units by its Honda and Acura divisions, a 0.3% increase over the same period of 2007.

The Honda automobile division has reported September sales of 12,841 units, down 4% from 2007. The Acura division has reported September 2008 sales of 2,048 units, up 34% over the same month of 2007. The sales of Honda Fit reached 1,536 units in September 2008, up 72% over 895 units sold in the same month of 2007. Honda CR-V sales increased 7% to 1,933 units in September 2008, over the sale of 1,805 units in the same month of 2007. Sales of Acura MDX reached to 797 units in September 2008, up 73% over the sale of 462 units in the corresponding month of 2007. Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada, said: In these difficult and unpredictable times, we are pleased to see that customers are coming to our dealerships and purchasing our products. Canadians are viewing the Honda brand as a safe choice in the marketplace, while many luxury buyers are turning to Acura, in part, because of the strong resale value that Acura vehicles represent.
