HMSI Unveils New Aviator

Aims to increase scooters segment market share from 50% to 70% by 2010

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), a 100% owned two-wheeler subsidiary of the Honda Motors Japan, has unveiled the New Aviator, reported THE ECONOMIC TIMES.

The company also plans to invest INR3.6 billion in 2009, to augment its current manufacturing capacity of their two-wheelers from 12,50,000 units to 15,00,000 units per annum, reported the newspaper.

YS Guleria, national sales head, HMSI said that the company plan to enhance the manufacturing capacity from 1,00,000 scooter units to 1,25,000 units in this financial year. Currently the company has a 50% share in scooter segment which is targeted to 70% by 2010.
