Group 1 acquires Hilton Head BMW dealership
Group 1 Automotive, a US-based automotive retailer, has acquired Hilton Head BMW in Blufton, South Carolina, that is expected to generate $45m in estimated annual revenues.
Group 1 Automotive chief executive officer Earl Hesterberg said the acquisition is the company's thirteenth BMW franchise in the US and will complement its existing Audi, BMW and Toyota dealerships in South Carolina.
The company owns and operates 111 automotive dealerships, 143 franchises and 28 collision centers in the US and the UK that offer 31 brands of automobiles.
Through dealerships, the firm sells new and used cars and light trucks, arranges related vehicle financing, service and insurance contracts, in addition to providing automotive maintenance and repair services, and selling vehicle parts.
