Ford Thailand's Q3 Sales Up 21%

Rising sales of Ford Ranger helped drive Ford's strong third quarter performance
Ford Thailand's new vehicle sales rose more than 21% during the third quarter of this fiscal year compared with the sales of the previous quarter. September sales rose almost 8% from August, representing its fourth consecutive months of increasing sales.

In September, Ranger delivered its highest monthly sales since October 2008, increasing 8.6% from August with 541 units, versus a 6.5% decrease for the pickup segment during the month. Total sales of Ranger in the third quarter increased nearly 29% from the second quarter.
Ford Escape sales in September also represented the nameplate's best monthly performance since October 2008, increasing more than 44% over the prior month. Third quarter sales of Escape were up nearly 80% from the previous quarter, Ford said.
The latest Ford Everest beat sales estimates in Thailand for both August and September, and delivered its best quarterly sales performance since December 2007.
