Fiat Launches Grande Punto In India

ABR Staff Writer Published 19 June 2009

Italian car manufacturer Fiat has launched its small car Grande Punto in both petrol and diesel variants, in the Indian market.

Grande Punto will be rolled out from the company's Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra, India, in four variants with three engine options. The car was first launched in the European market in 2005. The launch of Grande Punto came a week after Honda lunched its small car Jazz in India.

Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India Automobiles (FIAL), said: The launch of Grande Punto marks a new milestone for Fiat in India as we bring the quintessentially Italian designs to Indian shores.

The car would be retailed through over 100 Tata-Fiat dealers network across the country, the company said.

Fiat India Automobiles is a 50:50 joint venture between Italy-based Fiat SpA and domestic auto major, Tata Motors.
