Audi Launches New A8 L Quattro

Audi has launched the new A8 L W12 quattro, with a long wheelbase and a 12-cylinder 6.3 FSI engine which has an output of 368 kW (500hp) and delivers a torque of 625Nm (460.98lb-ft) with an engine speeds of 3,250rpm. The new A8 L will be available with all the engines currently offered for the A8 by end of the year.

According to Audi, the new A8 L is 130 mm in length, wheelbase is around 3,122 mm. The width of the car is 1,949 mm and the height has been increased by 2 mm to 1,462 mm. It has a body built from aluminum using Audi space frame (ASF) principle and weighing about 40% less than a comparable steel body. It also features an optional LED headlight units.

The company said that the new Audi A8 sprints from 0 to 100km/h (62.14mph) in only 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250km/h (155.34mph). It has a low fuel consumption of 12 liters per 100km (19.6 US mpg).

In addition, the engine is known as W12 because it has four rows of three cylinders with a 15-degree included angle between two offset rows of cylinders in each cylinder block. The V angle between the two blocks is 72 degrees. This layout makes the engine compact.
