DealerTrack Systems, a subsidiary of DealerTrack Holdings, a provider of on-demand software and data solutions for the automotive retail industry, has announced that the Asbury Automotive Group has decided to accelerate the implementation of the DealerTrack Arkona dealer management system across its entire store base.

Asbury selected DealerTrack as its DMS solutions and technology partner in October 2007. Since then, it has been systematically replacing dealer management system (DMS) systems from other providers with DealerTrack's DMS as existing contracts expired, and to date has converted 33 of its dealerships.

Charles Oglesby, president and CEO of the Asbury Automotive Group, said: We are pleased with DealerTrack's execution, and with the functionality and flexibility of the DealerTrack DMS. In fact, we decided to accelerate the conversions across the rest of our stores.

Mark O’Neil, chairman and chief executive officer of DealerTrack, said: “DealerTrack is committed to reducing dealers’ costs and increasing their profitability, while also providing open access to other technology vendors.

Earlier, DealerTrack Arkona DMS was decided to be used in training apprentice BMW service technicians at all nine of its Service Technician Education Programmes facilities in North America.

Alan Harris, Vice President of Aftersales at BMW of North America, LLC, said: We are excited about this opportunity to further strengthen our STEP technician training process by incorporating hands-on experience with a live DMS.
